Bristo Baptist Church is a small and friendly congregation that has welcomed visitors since it was first opened in 1765. We are Scotland's oldest continuing Baptist church and are located in central Edinburgh between Stockbridge and Dean Village. With around 40 of us on a Sunday, we are an all-age community of many nationalities bound together by the Word of God, His love, and moving together in the power of the Holy Spirit. We worship Jesus and serve the community around us, aiming to be biblical and Spirit-led in everything we do. We value being a community where people are known and able to play a meaningful part in church life.
Our vision is to be a Holy Family of Believers, a House of Prayer with a Heart for Outreach. Our Sunday services blend thoughtful, inspiring and meaningful biblical preaching with contemporary and traditional worship, prayer and a shared desire to follow Jesus. After services, there is time to chat over tea or coffee and pray together. We serve the community through ministries like our toddlers group and Messy Church. We have midweek home groups, joining for united prayer midweek once a month, and men's and women's ministries. Whether you're exploring Christianity for the first time or looking for a spiritual home, there is a warm, welcoming place for you here.
For students studying in Edinburgh - We don't run dedicated student programmes at the moment, but if you would like to belong to a church family where you know everybody's names, or serve somewhere where you could make a real difference, we would welcome you warmly.
